What is great is all you need is a food processor and some foil to wrap them. No oven needed. I may have to try making these this weekend for a little airplane snack for our upcoming trip.
I made the Lara Bars. In fact I have made them twice already! My daughter loved them so I made a double batch this morning. There is one change I would make to the recipe directions, that is to grind the nuts up first in your food processor, put them in a bowl, then mix up the dates and cranberries. Then add the nuts back into the date mixture. The dates and cranberry mixture is really sticky, so why take it in and out of the bowl? I also added a bit of almond butter in the first batch I made, also added coconut. It was really good!
ReplyDeleteOK now for all the crazy veggies I've been eating. I made Taro Root fried in coconut oil. Excellent! I fried Plantain Bananas in coconut oil. Excellent! Even the kids ate these and liked them! I am in the process of making Celery Root soup. I have made this before and it is really good. Tastes like the base for clam chowder. In fact that's what I did with it last time, added clams and bacon. I bought a Daikon Radish from the Oriental store. Tastes like a regular radish. I read about them last night and I'm going to make some more cole slaw tonight and going to add this to it. I also bought Shallots for the first time. I had no idea how strong they were, made my eyes water! I am working really hard to get my daughter to eat Paleo and see if we can get her excema to clear up. She is not totally sold, but she is willing to try some things. Keep up the good work everyone. I am really enjoying all the recipes!
